The Pledge of Peace
Built August 6, 2005 by NHK Hiroshima on the 60th anniversary of the bombing, the monument uses two hibaku curb stones from the former Hiroshima Central Broadcasting Station as the hands of a clock stopped at 8:15, the time of the August 6, 1945 bombing. It was created as a pledge not only to convey the horrors of nuclear weapons to the world, but also as a pledge to uphold the ideals of lasting world peace.
