  • Peace Bridge

The name “Peace Bridge” (Heiwa Ōhashi) was chosen in a public naming contest in November 1951, along with “Peace Boulevard” (Heiwa Ōdōri). The handrails on Peace Bridge and West Peace Bridge to its west were designed by American sculptor Isamu Noguchi (1904-1988). The bridges were completed in March 1952.
