Pride of Hiroshima
  • Pride of Hiroshima

The Pride of Hiroshima Exhibition originates from the special exhibition with the concept of "the path to recovery traveled by the people of Hiroshima, the resplendent sight of Hiroshima today, and their dreams for the future to the world," which was held at Canopy Square in Hiroshima Gate Park from May 18 to July 11, 2023, including the period of the G7 Hiroshima Summit.

This exhibition, which introduced the path to recovery of Hiroshima, an atomic bombed city, from the perspectives of "the power of the people" and "the regeneration of industry," received a great response from many visitors, who remarked that "there has never been an exhibition themed on recovery before." In response to these voices, the exhibition was restructured into a permanent exhibition focused on visual media and opened in April 2024.

The exhibition introduces the recovery from the atomic bomb damage through the efforts of local companies. It covers a wide range of topics, from relief activities and the restoration of electricity, gas, transportation, finance, and communication, to the rebuilding of livelihoods and industry, urban development, and the path to becoming an International Peace Culture City. Through valuable photographs, films, and actual materials owned by these companies, visitors can learn about the history of Hiroshima's recovery and the origins of its industries.

The Pride of Hiroshima Exhibition is not only a place to learn about the path of recovery but also a venue to contemplate the future of Hiroshima. We warmly welcome your visit.
