Camphor Tree (on the east side of Hiroshima Prefectural Culture and Arts Hall)
The camphor trees along the east side of Hiroshima Prefectural Culture and Arts Hall create a shining example of a tree-lined road. Standing tall at 20 meters and with trunk circumferences of 2.50 meters, these 12 trees survived the bombing together at a distance of 2,100 meters from the hypocenter. They were replanted in their current location due to construction of the Astram tram line.
