At Senda Elementary School, there are currently 11 registered hibaku trees which were exposed to the bombing inside or outside of the property. The ginkgo tree was exposed to the bombing at a distance of 1,400 meters from the hypocenter and was later replanted at the school. The Chinese juniper was exposed on school grounds (1,640 meters from the hypocenter) and was also replanted here at its current location. In addition, there is also a replanted Japanese sago palm that was exposed to the bombing at the Hiroshima Army Weapon Supply Depot 2,860 meters from the hypocenter, among other hibaku trees and items preserved in the school grounds, such as a stone statue and gate pillar.

These are used in peace education at the school. Note: as this is a school, entry is prohibited without prior permission.
