Japanese Sago Palm (Senryuji Temple)
This Japanese sago palm was exposed to the bombing at a distance of 1,590 meters from the hypocenter. While the above-ground portion was badly burned, new shoots began to grow from the roots and the tree recovered. Afterwards, the tree was divided and replanted and continues to thrive.
