Inside the ground of Tokuō-ji Temple in Higashi-Hakushima-cho, a 3.8-meter tall Japanese apricot tree, a 10-meter tall camphor tree with a trunk circumference of 2.0 meters, and a 3.5 meter-tall ring-cupped oak were exposed to the bombing at a distance of 1,580 meters from the hypocenter. At the time, the Japanese apricot tree was located on the northeast side of the main temple hall, but it has been replanted at the front of the hall. Each year, fragrant flowers bloom on the tree.
