クスノキ(RCC中国放送北西側)(被爆樹木)
  • Camphor Tree (on the northwest side of RCC Building Co., Ltd.)

This camphor tree stands on the north side of the moat surrounding Hiroshima Castle and was exposed to the bombing at 1,120 meters from the hypocenter. It also sustained damage on the side opposite from the hypocenter from a fire which broke out at the nearby Hiroshima Army School building. The remnants of this fire damage are still visible on the tree today.
