Called the hibaku zakura, the Somei-Yoshino cherry blossom trees that survived the bombing in the grounds of Hiroshima City Hall at a distance of 1,050 meters from the hypocenter. They now stand on the south and north sides of the square in front of the west entrance to the rebuilt Hiroshima City Hall.
