Camphor Tree (Shirakami Shrine)
The camphor trees inside of the Shirakami Shrine grounds were exposed to the bombing at a distance of 490 meters from the hypocenter. The above-ground portion of the trees were completely burned away, but from the roots, new buds grew, and now the trees reach the roof of the Shirakami Shrine.
