  • Peace Message Monuments

Monuments inscribed with messages of peace written by G7 leaders when they visited the Hiroshima Peace Memorial Museum during the May 2023 G7 Hiroshima Summit have been placed in Peace Message Square inside Hijiyama Park. It is our hope that these monuments inspire visitors to reflect on war and peace, as well as share in the will for peace while gazing at the river delta cityscape that recovered from the horrors of the atomic bombing.

With its prime location eastern end of Peace Boulevard, this Peace Message Square was completed in June 2023 as a scenic overlook where visitors can enjoy a view of the vibrant greenery of Peace Boulevard and the river delta cityscape that recovered from the horrors of the atomic bombing.
